Loving Well

So, I heard on the radio on the way in to the office today, something about doing the will of the Father and how to make sure is to simply love people well. I thought about it for a bit, not to knock down what was spoken, but just to process more about it. As I pondered this nice word of encouragement I came to the a realization that it seemed that people have good intentions to love people the best they can, which seemed like a good conclusion, except, the word says to love your neighbor as yourself…and I know Pastor spoke about what if people don’t love themselves. So, people really are ding the best they can if that is the only lens they have. But can we do more than that? Philippians 2:3 says, “[Let] nothing [be done] through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves”. Therefore, loving people better is by loving them beyond us, treating them better than our ownselves, which is loving well. We know this to be the Father’s desire. Don’t settle with less then, because we already know when we fall short of loving self, not selfishly that is, we tend to potentially hurt others. So let’s go beyond that and love them better, to a place that encourages us to love ourselves even more. In doing so, we will heal and even love better than we did! Let’s love like our Father!
