We are in a position where we need to choose to neither look to the left or the right. Proverbs 4:27 says, “Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil”. I would even go to say to remove your ear from evil as well. I mean we do not need to hear the ways of the world, when we need to be hearing more of the Father. His word, fasting to decrease and bring our flesh into submission to the will of the Father, quieting our minds, praying, seeking the Father for His peace in this season. “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” II Corinthians 5:7. We need to hear the Father, not look to the world’s ways or how good or bad the future appears. We really need to seek first the kingdom of God, and righteousness. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Stop for a moment and think about that…“seek first the kingdom of God”. It literally is telling us what we are supposed to do first. We are not supposed to get up and hear the world’s views which plays against the Father’s ways. Along with seeking the kingdom, we are supposed to seek after HIS righteousness…not what we perceive, not our righteousness, but His righteousness, His truth. Our necessities will already be taken care of, no worries about what we will eat, what we will wear. In fact, you need not be looking for tomorrow, as tomorrow will take care of itself. Focus on the Father today, keep your eyes fixed on Him, and you will see His glory, you will see the peace you seek, you will see the joy return, you will see that you are not bogged down by the world’s stuff. It is so very important for you to keep your eyes fixed on the Father and to not slip into the ways of evil in any form. This allows us to receive from the Father and see what He desires, see His heart for the people, see what He is doing as He permits. We don’t need to see the mess of the world and try to sort out the rhyme and reason, it will literally keep you away from the Father and you will think you are discerning and come to some conclusion that is incorrect. Just keep your eyes on the Father, seek Him, and live in peace knowing you are taken care and have no need of concern.
