Wisdom

It is unwise to compare to another…so why do we do it? Think about it…have you ever been driving somewhere familiar, and out of nowhere you’re unctioned to turn a different direction, and then another, and so forth, knowing that God is teaching you obedience and sensitivity to His voice if that is the only reason? But take another step back and do as you usually do to others and see what your reaction is, do this without the other knowledge of what was really happening. Maybe you would say something along the lines that it would’ve been faster to go the other way, why are you wasting gas, that was so inefficient, that was aimless…and so on. How often are we doing this without knowing the fullness? I mean come on, we have been in a situation where God told us to do something and we did, then found out why, we totally wouldn’t have done if we had known, lol. So, we can’t even say if we were in the person’s shoes, we would do different, or that knowing the instruction we would follow them, but if we had then on the outside someone would be doing the same thing as we did. Here we are not judging someone’s actions, but instead condemning them.
Further, we are condemning, but in order to condemn we have to have some standard in which to measure to…typically we are the standard in which we compare others to. BUT it is unwise. So here is a step up, it’s time to recognize that everyone has a different level, a different place, a different background, a different upbringing, different gift sets, different methods of achieving the same task, but none of that is wrong! Leave people where they are and start rejoicing that they are further than where they were. Encourage them, celebrate with them, and pray for their well-being. Don’t pray a prayer of direction for these folks, like we are god or something, instead, pray for their good, that blessings of abundance come forth, that new revelations come, that their gift will be used even at a greater capacity…you know the kind of prayers we pray for ourselves.
God says to love, so let’s be more about that than all this condemnation and looking for the downfall of others!

“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise” II Corinthians 10:12.
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” John 3:17.
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” Matthew 22:37-39.
