If we’re critical with ourselves in private, understand that it is a fruit we bear like an invasive weed for all to see and partake of even when they do not want to. Unfortunately, it is a fruit we bear and force others to eat that poisons. Imagine the other things we bear because we think we are only projecting them on ourselves in practice behind closed doors. We’re never really hiding that fruit because that same fruit is the mindset toward others even if we feel it isn’t. Our fruit always reveals our heart, our hurt, and our practice.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another” Galatians 5:22-26.
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” Galatians 5:19-21.
