True rest isn’t the part of sitting down by the campfire and your mind running, planning, preparing, and so forth, that isn’t really rest. I had to learn how to rest, to let go and be in the moment, nothing pressing, nothing to plan, nothing to prepare, as tomorrow would take care of itself. In the resting moments came the healing that was necessary for the next things I would endure. I needed the healing, I needed the strength that I gained in that rest, so that I could push through what was to come. But when the things transpired, I was able to rest and face it without issue or resistance, all because I knew how to rest…to rest in the Father’s arms. Find your rest, so that you too can be at peace regardless of what comes forth.
“Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28.
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof” Matthew 6:34.
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7.
