Start looking at the places you go and the tips you leave…whether for your coffee, for your meal, for a haircut, etc….see it as an offering. You’re more open to giving an offering to these folks, as you should give, but won’t even think twice to giving to the church, tithes and/or offerings, or to the man or woman of God. Did you know it would be more valuable to give of your expertise for an offering when there is a need? For example, if the church needs some electrical work done and you are a licensed electrician, it would be of greater value to offer to fix this than to throw a few bucks in the offering. Think about it…you are valuable, more valuable, and will be valued as such because you are offering something that just does not fit in the offering plate at church. There is always something you can give for offering.
“Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer [is] worthy of his reward” I Timothy 5:17-18.
